The Employment Ministry at Burke Community Church is a vital part of our Outward Ministries initiative, dedicated to sharing the hope of Jesus with our local community by meeting people where they are. In partnership with other partners, we focus on supporting underserved populations by breaking down barriers to employment. Our ministry provides a range of employment-related services and resources, equipping individuals with the tools they need and empowering them to confidently advocate for themselves.
Volunteer Employment Advocates (VEAs) serve as individual coaches for our clients. They meet with clients for career and skills assessment, mentorship, as well as advocating for and encouraging the client in finding gainful employment.
Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) serve as resources for clients and VEAs in specific matters such as interview preparation, resume review and editing, and other necessary skills.
